R.A.R.O Residencia 2021
Alix joins the R.A.R.O residency family this summer to explore mental health and wellness in communities that have experienced trauma due to racism, political upheavals, and the pandemic. Alix will be joining Peruvian abstract artists, Katia Munoz at her studio and La Botanica during her stay.

La Botanica Barcelona
I will spend the next two weeks working in La Botanica Barcelona on my project, The Color of Healing. Looking forward to finishing the portraits and interviews! #MentalHealthMatters
New Friends Abroad!
While working in the Katia Munoz studio I had the wonderful pleasure of working with Catalan artist Diego Guirao, sculptor, and photographer, Viktor Blanco.
So many species!
While walking to my studio in the mornings, I like to stop in the next door garden. I have never seen so many types of desert plants!
Street Art and Sk8
Aespyne Alix joins fellow Chicago artist, Saint Lui for a tour of Barcelona. The pair discuss Lui’s practice of Sk8 Therapy and expressive movement. Visiting some of the cities most iconic skateparks. Including MACBA and Paral-lel.
